Our Story

Bet Shalom Messianic Assembly’s story began in 2012 with prayer and fasting taking place regarding a ministry vision.  Through His Word, the Lord kept on revealing, take the Gospel to the Jews.  I grew up on the mission field and had served in missions with diverse “people groups”.  Romans 1:16 says, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.”  My heart stirred with, “Who is taking the Gospel to the Jews?”  I finally surrendered and said, “Okay God, I will do it.  I don’t know what I am doing, but I will do it.”

Our story continued when God supernaturally brought Jews across our path.  Initial meetings took place in our home, which we outgrew.  We then began meeting in other homes.  Luke 10:5 says, “But whatever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace to this house.’  In the attempt to observe the Hebraic roots of our faith, the name “Bet Shalom” (House of Peace) came about.

Proclaiming the Good News of Yeshua

In obedience to His call, the Lord began bringing more Jews our way.  Isaiah 1:18 says, “Come now, and let us reason together, says the LORD…”  I noticed that the ministry time seemed only to quickly turn into debates. The Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit) instructed and revealed through a word of knowledge (1 Corinthians 12:8), to start asking if they had any physical ailments or sickness.  Each time the response was affirmative.  I asked if I could pray over them to be healed, using the Name of Yeshua (Jesus in Hebrew), which means salvation.  Again, each response was “yes”.

The individuals received healing instantly and miraculously in each circumstance after praying! As a result, they realized Yeshua healed them, and they were now open to the Gospel.  We shared The Good News of Jesus (Yeshua), and acceptance of Yeshua as HaMashiach (The Messiah) took place!  We are excited to be able to share these testimonies of when we baptize (mikveh) them.

Looking for a “home”

By 2014, we were looking for a more permanent location.  I started visiting many local churches in the surrounding area, sharing our ministry vision and seeking a larger place to worship.  We were only expecting a larger space, such as a Sunday school classroom.

The Country Church in Marion contacted us and asked us to come out and see the “building” they were going to let us use.  Upon arrival, we realized God worked above and beyond what we could ever imagine (1 Corinthians 2:9).  They told us that not only did we have full access to the building and that it was ours to use as we saw fit, but that they did not want anything from us financially in return.  The Country Church stated they wanted to be a blessing to us and indeed, they have been!

Our Story continues and looks to the future

Today we continue to meet on at The Country Church campus and our story continues to develop. 2017 is going to be an exciting year for Bet Shalom Messianic Assembly! God continues to bless us and we are eager to see what is going to happen next as we press forward with performing His Kingdom Purposes.  We are excited to witness where God is at work, and that we can join in and be a part of His ministry! Adonai, Your Kingdom come!
